2009 SunnyTravelers International Rally

June 29 - July 3, 2009

Hamburg, NY

Join us at The Fairgrounds in Hamburg, New York
(Erie County Fairgrounds - www.the-fairgrounds.com)

Hamburg, New York is only 12 miles south of Buffalo, New York The village is considered part of Buffalo- Niagara Falls metropolitan area.

Hamburg, NY is the home of the hamburger. The hamburger was invented when two brothers who were selling sausages at the Erie County Fair ran out of sausages. A local butcher offered ground beef as an alternative, and the brothers shaped this into a patty and the Hamburger was born.

The Town of Hamburg is internationally famous for its Devonian fossils and shale outcroppings along the bank of the Eighteen Mile Creek. The Kleis site, located across from the Erie County Fair Grounds, is on the National Register for historic places.

Many signs of evidence such as arrowheads left by the Kahquak Indians and the Erie Indians have been found along the Eighteen Mile Creek and around the Erie County Fairgrounds. The name of "Lake Erie" and "Erie County" is derived from the Erie Indians.

Hamburg is the home of the Lake Erie Seaway Trail Center, America’s Fair, Fairgrounds Gaming, and Buffalo Raceway, and much more.

Our 2009 International Rally will be held in the center of this metropolitan area where we’ll have some optional tours to see and hear about some of these interesting sites along with our many rally activities. As in the past our rally will include vendors from the various SunnyBrook suppliers as well as outside vendors. We’ll have service and seminars by these vendors and other local vendors who will furnish us with information on their products and services and teach us something along the way. We’ll have games and competitions like bocce ball, bean bag baseball and card games. An afternoon craft show and sale by the members will be sure to have you saying, “How did you do that?” Other activities will include a photo contest, a media exchange and a charity auction. We’ll check out the local golf course for our golf tournament and for those with pets don’t forget their costume for the Pet Parade! We’ll have meals (I’m sure we’ll have to have a hamburger in Hamburg?) and professional entertainment. There’s sure to be something for everyone so start making plans to join us for the SunnyTravelers’ 2009 International Rally.

***This facility has a dump station. However, it is recommended that you arrive at the fairgrounds with empty holding tanks. We are in the process of contracting a Honey Wagon (a company that can pump out your holding tank) during the rally. Cost for this may range from $20 to $35 per pump out. No confirmed prices have been given.

From the website: www.rvdumps.com/dumpstations we have found the following facitilites where you can dump your holding tanks prior to arriving in Hamburg.
